When combined with a humidistat, a Piian Mega Fog System will maintain very precise humidity levels (20% - 95%) inside large building without causing any wetting. A Piian system provides performance levels far in excess of conventional humidifying equipment with drastically lower installation and operating costs.

The Piian humidification system increases crop yields in growing environments and reduces losses associated with drying, shrinkage, cracking or brittleness of stored commodities.

The flow rate of each nozzle is only 0.022 GPM, the nozzles produce extremely fine 10 micron sized droplets. All water droplets produced by the system convert to moisture vapor.

Storage  Environments

A Piian Mega Fog System will atomize a super fine fog of 10-micron water droplets over the entire floor area of any sized structure. The system provides uniform humidity throughout the environment and will accurately maintain humidity levels up to 95%.
A state of the art electronic Humidistat cycles the system on and off after a target humidity is achieved. There are no wetting, dripping or moisture problems.

For Greenhouses, uniform humidity promotes better crop growth, more dense planting, reduced plant loss and an over all increase in productivity.
For general storage the system reduces spoilage, increases shelf life and reduces handling.

Paper & Wood Products Storage

By providing uniform levels of humidification throughout the storage environment, the Piian High Pressure Fog System prevents drying, shrinkage, and cracking of paper, wood and other similar products. This provides large cost savings in terms of product wastage and failure.
The system does not wet the stored goods; the fog is so fine that it permeates through the environment without any condensation effect.
 
The system consists of a “high pressure pump module package” and atomization nozzles which are installed into hydraulic hoses or tubes to form an “atomization line”. An ordinary water supply feeds into the high pressure pump module where it is pressurized to 1000PSI / 70BAR and pumped along hydraulic manifold hose and is finally released into the air through tiny highly specialized low flow atomization nozzles.
The released fluid forms a super fine “fog” of 10 micron sized droplets that is suspended in the air. The fog produced by the system is so fine it completely evaporates in the air without any wetting or dripping. Each system is custom designed for each humidification project to maximize performance.

For growing environments, the system promotes higher crop yields by enabling greater planting density with reduced disease and plant loss at rooting and propagation. The system also reduces the requirements for shade screens and white washing so increasing light levels throughout the growing environment.

For storage or process environments, the system prevents drying, shrinkage, cracking, brittlizing of various commodities.

Energy costs are low; a 2 HP system will drive 100 Nozzles which can humidify a 10,000 to 20,000 Sq Ft facility. Compared to compressed air atomization system, a Piian High Pressure Fog System uses 90% less energy.

Installations are fast and simple with the majority of fabrication completed at our factory, no special installation tools are required, 2 men can install a small system in a day.

Unattended operation, the pump module may be controlled by an optional humidistat which will maintain an exact amount of moisture in the environment at all times.
 

About Humidistats

There are literally hundreds of humidistat devices available. They come in a wide price range. For operation with a fog system, the humidistat must be both highly accurate and fast reacting. Inexpensive humidistats are inaccurate. Additionally, they normally cannot measure above 75% RH, while most fog system applications call for target humidity in the range of 75% to 99% RH. Inexpensive humidistats also cannot measure changes in humidity fast enough causing the system to lag or overrun. Piian's humidistat is accurate to 2% RH up to 99% RH and reacts in less than 1 sec. Also, the humidistat is aspirated, meaning there is a fan built over the sensor to move the air to avoid false positives. This humidistat has been designed specially to our requirements and is specific for fog systems. The attached picture shows the humidistat control panel and two sensors. Depending on requirements, most times only one sensor is required. One sensor is all that is required up to 20,000 sq ft. You can have up to two sensors; the sensors can be staged or set up to operate in zones etc.
