Building
Installation
When installed
in a building, the fog system is installed in a grid fashion over
the entire floor area of a building. This insures uniform coverage
throughout the building and avoids unwanted humidity
gradients.
Fog is added as required at the ventilation inlet points of the
building.
The system is connected to a highly sensitive humidistat; the
humidistat reads the humidity level inside the building and turns
the fog system off once the target humidity has been
satisfied.
For very high humidity requirements (95%), two humidity sensors are
used, the first shuts down 75% of the system at 70% RH, the second
sensor keeps the remaining 25% of the system running until the
higher humidity target has been achieved. This design avoids
humidity over-runs and possible condensation problems by adding the
final quantities of moisture slowly.
Each system is designed based upon a psychrometric
calculation.

Duct
Installation
Often,
industrial buildings have a forced air ventilation system that
draws air from outside into the building via a series of
ducts.
When installed in a duct, the fog nozzles are installed in a grid
fashion across the cross section of the air flow.
By using
sectioning controllers various nozzles can be turned on and off to
vary the moisture addition rate.
