The
Piian Flexi Fog System has been specifically developed to suppress
dust caused by conveying, sorting, screening and crushing
equipment.
In the past, atomization technology for process dust suppression
has been available in two “types”: Small, low cost, low
pressure sprayers that cause a lot of wetting and more expensive
custom-built high pressure fog systems which are difficult to
design and install. The Piian Flexi Fog System includes the
capabilities of large non wetting low water consumption high
pressure atomization systems but is supplied as a kit that permits
flexible and rapid installation without any design costs.
The Piian Flexi Fog System pumps ordinary water at 1000PSI pressure
through a manifold tube, where it is released through highly
specialized low flow atomization nozzles to form a mist of 10
micron sized droplets. The droplets are so fine they remain
suspended in the air this not only eliminates wetting or dripping,
but it provides an extremely efficient system for moisturizing and
containing fugitive dust.
The Piian Flexi Fog System is comes in a simple self-install kit.
The kit includes a 1000PSI pump module, a coil of manifold tubing,
between 10 and 500 nozzles and all necessary fittings. Few tools
are required for assembly; simply cut the manifold tube to the
required length and “press-on” fittings are used to
install the nozzles. No major pre-design is required, no
pre-fabrication is required, the nozzle layout can be decided and
adjusted during the installation. The pump module requires an
electrical connection and water connection.
The system is installed with the nozzles positioned to form a
barrier or curtain of atomized water droplets around the source of
dust in process operations. Dust created by transfer, crushing, and
sorting operations is contained and its moisture content increased
by the atomized water whereby usually is returned to the process
material.
The flow rate of each nozzle is only 0.022 GPM, the nozzles produce
extremely fine 10 micron sized droplets. The system actually wets
just the dust; it does not significantly raise the moisture content
of the process material meaning no wetting, clogging or groundwater
problems.
Multiple dust generation points and complex sorting and material handling processes make designing a system on paper a difficult challenge. Installation of any spray type dust suppression system is often a trial and error process. Oftentimes, your existing operation or maintenance staff has the best understanding of their own sites dust suppression requirements, they most likely have gained experience installing a common low pressure spray system on your existing equipment.
A Piian Flexi Fog System uses a "press-on" style nozzle and is easier to install than common low pressure spray systems. The Flexi Fog System is supplied as a kit that can be installed several different ways. The "press-on" type nozzle can be disconnected and repositioned with ease making layout changes quick as simple. The Flexi Fog System allows you to experiment with your layout out until you get what you what with little or no further expense.
The Piian Flexi Fog System installs onto complex equip quickly and easily. Fine dust is controlled without causing wetting or clogging.
Multiple Zones can be controlled with simple ball valves.
A Piian Flexi Fog System is attached to the feed point of a grinder and conveyor belt drop off points. The system completely eliminates fugitive dust when grinding dry material with minimal water consumption and material wetting.
The equipment can be built into rugged casements to avoid damage from the process material.
The Piian Flexi Fog System consists of a “high pressure pump module ” and “atomization nozzles” which are cut into nylon tubing to form an “atomization line”. An ordinary water supply feeds into the high pressure pump module, the water is pressurized to 1000PSI / 70BAR and pumped into the nylon tubing where it is finally released into the air through tiny highly specialized low flow atomization nozzles. The released fluid forms a super fine “fog” of 10 micron sized droplets that is suspended in the air. The fog produced by the system is so fine it completely evaporates in the air without any wetting or dripping. The system acts to raise the humidity level around the process material, the dry fugitive dust present in the environment absorbs the moisture provided by the fog system causing it to increase in weight and therefore settle back to the process material or the ground.
Piian Flexi Fog Systems as supplied as a simple self install kit. Each kit contains everything required to complete an installation, plus some spare parts and service parts. Energy costs are low; a 2 HP system will drive 100 Nozzles.
